The combination of the Logitech Harmony Companion and Harmony Home Hub Extender creates a single way to control almost every device in your home. We think this is a viable alternative to bespoke systems such as those from Control4, with even voice control now available using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
Logitech have used their experience from the all-in-one remote control to use that as the core from which to build out full smart home control. The Harmony Companion controls infra-red, radio-frequency and wi-fi devices, such as your TV, amplifier, NEST or Ecobee thermostat, and the addition of the Z-wave and Zigbee compatible Home Hub Extender then allows control of most other types of smart home devices. In fact Logitech claim compatibility with over 270,000 devices!
There are still good reasons to put a Samsung Smartthings, Wink2, Amazon Echo Plus or Apple Homekit (AppleTV) as the hub of your smart home, but Logitech deserves your serious consideration too.
